Aufforstung zum Speichern von CO2 aus der Atmosphäre
Das Projekt umfasst insgesamt 21.298 ha Land, das zuvor von Fleischrindern beweidet wurde, auf dem Forstplantagen zur Gewinnung hochwertiger, langlebiger Holzprodukte und zur Speicherung großer Mengen Kohlendioxid aus der Atmosphäre errichtet wurden.
Die Wälder basieren hauptsächlich auf Eucalyptus grandis Plantagen in 22-jährigen Rotationen, die mit Schnitt und zwei bis drei Ausdünnungsarbeiten bewirtschaftet werden, um Stämme mit hohem Durchmesser zu erhalten, die zum Sägen und Furnieren geeignet sind.
Die Praktiken sind mit dem FSC-Standard für nachhaltige Forstwirtschaft kompatibel. Gepflanzte Wälder entfernen Kohlendioxid aus der Atmosphäre und speichern es in verschiedenen Kohlenstoffpools (oberirdische und unterirdische Biomasse, Boden, Streu, Nicht-Baum-Vegetation, Totholz und geerntete Holzprodukte).

Ziel der Projektaktivität ist die Erzeugung von elektrischer Energie unter Verwendung von Sonnenenergie durch den Betrieb von photovoltaischen Solarpanelen.
Der durch das Projekt erzeugte Strom wird in das indische Stromnetz exportiert. Durch die Projektaktivität wird daher eine entsprechende Menge an Elektrizität verdrängt, die sonst durch das dominierende Stromnetz für fossile Brennstoffe erzeugt worden wäre.
